Special thanks to Karine Bolduc, Lynn Lebrun, and Yves Tremblay from the Department of Computer Science and the Faculty of Science at Université de Sherbrooke for their great help in the local organization, the accounting and the conference website. We also address our many thanks to the six keynote speakers who gave wonderful talks, and attended the whole conference despite their very busy schedules: Belinda Chang, Dannie Durand, Christian Landry, Gwenaïl Piganeau, Xavier Roucou, and Jesse Shapiro. Many thanks also to Dannie Durand, Gwenaïl Piganeau and David Sankoff for their presentations at McGill University and Université de Sherbrooke on the sidelines of the conference. Last but not least, we would like to thank all the session chairs, participantts, speakers and poster presenters, for attending the conference and contributing to the discussions, and for the high quality of the presentations. The workshop would not have been possible without the generous contribution of our sponsors: - Faculté de médecine et des sciences de la santé - UdeS - Faculté des sciences - UdeS - McGill University - Programme de soutien à la tenue de colloques scientifiques étudiants - UdeS - Fonds institutionnel de soutien aux activités étudiantes - UdeS - Département d'informatique - UdeS - Département de Biochimie - UdeS - Département de Biologie - UdeS - Calcul Québec - Regroupement des étudiants de maîtrise et de doctorat de l'UdeS (REMDUS) - Regroupement des étudiants chercheurs en Médecine de l'UdeS (RECMUS) The conference benefitted from the posting calendar of events on the International Society for Computational Biology (ISCB) website. We used the EasyChair system for submissions, reviews, and proceedings formatting, and the conference proceedings were published as a volume in the Springer Lecture Notes in Bioinformatics (LNBI 11183) series. Extensions of a selected set of papers presented at the conference will be published in Algorithms for Molecular Biology. Thank you until next edition at RECOMB-CG 2019 in Montpellier !
