The 16th RECOMB Comparative Genomics Satellite Workshop, was held during October 9-12,
2018, in Magog-Orford, Québec, Canada.

We thank the members of the Steering Committee, Marília Braga, Dannie Durand,
Jens Lagergren, Aoife McLysaght, Luay Nakhleh, and David Sankoff, and organizers
of past editions of the conference, Cedric Chauve and Nadia El-Mabrouk, for their 
guidance and support all along the organization process.

We thank the members of the Program Committee as well as the additional reviewers for
their diligent work reviewing the manuscripts and conducting thorough discussions on
the manuscripts to inform the evaluation process.

We also thank the members of the local organizing committee, Ayrin Ahia-Tabibi, Faizy

The conference benefitted from the posting calendar of events on the International
Society for Computational Biology (ISCB) website. We used the EasyChair system for 
submissions, reviews, and proceedings formatting, and the conference proceedings were
published as a volume in the Springer Lecture Notes in Bioinformatics (LNBI 11183) 
series. Extensions of a selected set of papers presented at the conference will be
published in Algorithms for Molecular Biology.
